Oil
The oil that we are using is ISO 46 Red/Rouge. The red refers to the color of the dye inside. It doesn't matter what company produces it as long as it has the ISO 46 as specifications. One barrel of oil sells for around 51.48$ for 20 liters. We have a discount of 25% on this from Magneto.
Oil level
Since there are some leaks in the hydraulic system there will be a need in the near future to add some hydraulic oil. There is a gauge on the green tank that gives both the level of the oil and the temperature of the fluid. The temperature device is not very reliable so it can pretty much be ignored. On the glass gauge window there is a black line drawn with a maker. This should be the normal oil level. If it is a little below that it is not a problem. Oil must be added when the level is so low that there is no fluid showing in the gauge. To add oil, unscrew the cap just above the gauge and add the type of oil specified above. That's it.
Oil disposal
Disposing of hydraulic oil down the drain is inappropriate. Contact Maintenance Services to reach a Hazardous Waste disposal representative for the building.
