Torque Transducers


The experimental apparatus has two torque transducers (Lebow 2110-5k) to measure the torque produced by the subject on the foot pedals.

The transducers are flanged reaction torque sensorsthat have a capacity of 565Nm and a torsional stiffness of 103941Nm/rad.

These signals from the torque transducers are conditioned using custom built electronic modules (strain gage conditioner) which allows the gain and offset to be set as desired. These modules were calibrated to a sensitivity of 0.05V/Nm. A positive torque is measured during dorsiflexion whereas a negative torque is measured during plantarflexion
