1. In order to keep the file system from getting full make sure there are not any file that you no longer need in your home dir.
2. The netscape cache should be kept as small as possible. An easy way to do this is by limiting the netscape cache when netscape is running. It is under Options then Network Preferences (a good size is about 200 Kilobytes).
3. If you haven't done this or if you don't want to do this then you need to delete your netscape cache.
This is an example of how to reduce the netscape cache:
rm /home/cortex/kukreja/.netscape/cache/*
or for edu accounts
rm /home/reflex/edu/edu1/.netscape/cache/*
In addition netscape creates .saves-1450-cortex.biomed.mcgill.ca files that should be deleted because they also can take up quite a bit of space if there are enough of them in the dir.
This is an easy way to delete them all at once:
rm .saves*
4. If only part of the network is down (e.g, the computer room) check to see if the repeater box has any flashing red lights. If there are red lights flashing reset it by pushing the black button on the right side of the box. The repeater is located on a shelf near the ceiling (above the actuator).
