EMG's (Electromyograms) are recordings of the wave of electrical depolarization that propagate along the muscle membrane initiating skeletal muscle contraction. Active single differential surface electrodes are applied at specific locations to measure EMGS corresponding to ankle plantarflexion and dorsiflexion. These electrodes are non-invasive and enable the measurement of an EMG signal that represents a significant portion of the muscle.

The DE-2.1 is the standard EMG electrode supplied with the Bagnoli Systems, and is specifically designed to be used with these. These versatile electrodes are well-suited for most EMG applications, ideal for both large and small muscles.
All electrodes are tested and calibrated before shipment to ensure that manufacturing specifications have been met. Performance according to specifications is guaranteed for environments devoid of noise sources. Examples of common noise sources include electric motors (such as those found on treadmills and fans) and high current power supplies. Performance according to specifications cannot be guaranteed if DelSys devices are used in conjunction with other equipment that has not been reviewed and approved by DelSys Inc. Examples include proprietary A/D cards and electric exercise equipment. DelSys reserves the right to change specifications without notice.
